We strongly suggest that your purchase Azpects Easy Seal alongside your paving to maintain its colour and to ensure that it stats as bright and radiant as possible. The Easy Seal is a vital component because it acts as an extra layer of protection from outside effects such as the weather or accidental spillages that may occur.
We also advise that that you jet wash your paving every 6 months as that will keep your Sandstone free of any dirt and debris.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Limestone Paving?
Sandstone and Limestone do have a few similarities, the most significant one being that they are both derived naturally from Indian stone quarries.
However, a quite important distinction between the two is that Limestone is slightly more brittle whereas Sandstone is the harder wearing of the two.
It is also important to be aware of the fact that Sandstone is more appropriate if you want a material that will have long lasting colour and brightness, because Limestone will get lighter as time goes by.
We, at Stone Zone, offer a huge variety of paving options for Sandstone Paving, for instance, if you want a smoother finish for your garden or patio we would recommend sawn options.
One final thing of note is that, in order to keep Limestone Paving as vibrant as possible, it must be sealed. On the other hand, it is a completely optional step for Sandstone Paving.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving?
There are a few marked differences between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving. As we have stated above, Sandstone Paving are naturally formed in a quarry, rather than manufactured like Porcelain Paving are. However, because they are manmade Porcelain Paving come in a wide range of finishes and colours.
Depending on what kind of look you want for your garden, that will be the basis for which paving you choose. Sandstone paving is great if you want a more natural, traditional look, whereas if you want something more customisable and modern, Porcelain Paving is what you should go for.
Please be aware of the fact that Sandstone Paving will naturally start to fade, with the surface texture wearing away due to the effects of the weather. If that is not ideal, we'd suggest choosing Porcelain Paving which, as stated above, is much better at retaining its colour because of the way it's produced.
Finally, upkeeping and maintenance is necessary with Sandstone Paving. We advise that you jet wash your Sandstone Paving every 6 months. However, if you want to with something with easier maintenance, go with Limestone Paving which only needs a hose down every 6 months to keep any dirt and debris away.
