Golden Gravel 20mm

20mm Golden Gravel is a favorite among decorative aggregates, and for good reason. This budget-friendly, versatile gravel brings warmth and charm to various outdoor spaces, whether used for a front driveway, a garden pathway, or as a decorative border around your home.

Golden Gravel’s blend of warm browns, golds, and creams adds a bright, inviting touch to any garden style. It complements both classic brick homes and modern black-and-white exteriors, making it a flexible choice for any setting.

One unique feature of Golden Gravel is the occasional seashell mixed within the stones—a delightful touch resulting from its coastal quarry origins.

The natural stones are also available in 10mm

20mm Golden Gravel Features

  • Suitable for pathways and driveways
  • Fish-friendly and suitable for ponds
  • Warm, bright array of colours
  • Locally-sourced from Southern beaches

How to Buy 20mm, Golden Gravel

20kg maxi bags

850kg Bulk Bags (weight is approx)

You can collect your stones from any of our depots in Wimborne, Bournemouth, Christchurch or Dorchester. Alternatively, we offer both local and national delivery at affordable rates.

Golden Gravel 20mm for Pathways

One popular use for 20mm Golden Gravel is to create a bright, inviting pathway, either wrapping around your property or winding through your garden.

This gravel size is also ideal for driveways, providing a stable, level surface for vehicles. We recommend using either the 20mm or 14mm size, as smaller stones may not offer the same support.

If you’re looking to enhance your driveway or garden on a budget, Golden Gravel is a great choice—it’s more affordable than options like Block Paving or Decorative Chippings. Plus, Golden Gravel naturally aids drainage, reducing the risk of standing water or flooding even in heavy rains.

Maintenance is another advantage of Golden Gravel. This stone is virtually hassle-free, requiring only an occasional top-up to maintain depth for safe walking and driving. It’s the perfect low-maintenance solution for a beautiful, functional outdoor space.

Golden Gravel 20mm for Gardens

For an understated yet eye-catching garden feature, Golden Gravel is an ideal choice. It provides a simple way to add depth and warmth without overwhelming the space.

With its mix of golden and earthy tones, Golden Gravel instantly brightens any garden and creates a cozy atmosphere. It also works beautifully as a border, adding definition around garden edges.

If you enjoy gardening, you’ll be pleased to know that Golden Gravel is plant-friendly. Many people like to sprinkle the gravel over flower beds and around plants to bring out a vibrant contrast.

An added benefit of Golden Gravel is its moisture-retaining quality, which helps keep plants hydrated in summer and insulated in winter.

How to Lay Golden Gravel in Your Garden

We always suggest hiring a professional landscaper for optimal results and to avoid potential errors. However, laying Golden Gravel in your garden is a relatively simple process, and with some DIY experience, you can likely handle it yourself. Here are some key tips to help you get started:

If you’re installing Golden Gravel on a driveway, begin by ensuring you have a stable base. We recommend using Limestone Type 1, also known as MOT Type 1—a 4mm graded limestone that’s ideal for leveling and supporting driveway surfaces.

First, measure the area where you’ll be placing the gravel. With your measurements ready, use our convenient Quantity Calculator to determine the amount of base layer and Golden Gravel needed. As a general guideline, we suggest a base depth of 50mm.

At Stone Zone, we offer Grid Stabilisers specifically designed for high-traffic areas, such as driveways or private roads. These grids provide additional stability, making them an excellent choice for large areas that see frequent use.

To prevent unwanted weeds, we recommend laying down Weed Fabric before spreading the gravel. This layer acts as a barrier to reduce weed growth. We offer Weed Fabrics in various sizes to fit your project, no matter the area size.

For garden borders, you can lay Golden Gravel directly onto the existing surface, whether it’s artificial grass, turf, or Weed Fabric, making it a versatile option for a range of landscaping applications.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
