Cobble Setts are calibrated to ensure a consistent size and even finish, and are a very popular range for your garden.

Our brightly coloured Citron Yellow Limestone, also known as Tuscan Yellow Paving, or Kota Yellow, is one of our best-selling ranges of Cobble Setts. The main colours that can be seen in these popular paving setts are beige, yellow and gold; these warm hues match with many different garden features such as garden furniture or fencing. 

What makes Cobble Setts such a popular choice for your garden? These paving tiles are highly versatile; being readily available for multiple uses in your garden. They are also very easy to work with being so small in size and lightweight. Limestone Cobble Setts are also a great value way of adding a special feature to your garden.

Yellow Limestone Cobble Setts, also referred to as Thai Yellow Setts, can be used in many different ways in your garden; you could use these small paving stones as a border around an existing garden feature, such as Turf or Artificial Grass, or you could lay them in many different ways to create your own, bespoke patio area. 

Limestone Cobble Setts as Edging

Many people like to lay some form of edging in their front or back garden, as it usually acts as the finishing touch to your landscape, and tends to enhance the feature you are bordering. 

The obvious choice for garden patio edging is if you have our best-selling Citron Limestone Paving already laid in your garden, and you'd like to add the matching setts. It tends to finish the edge of your paving off nicely without the harsh finish of the paving slabs.

Cobble Setts are popular for use in customer's front gardens too, as they make great edging for smart, garden borders, as well as for existing garden pathways. 

Limestone Cobble Setts as a Garden Patio

As aforementioned, Cobble Setts make for a great garden patio that can be laid right outside your home or even in the middle of your garden as a focal point. 

You have so many more options when it comes to laying Cobble Setts as an individual garden patio; for one thing, the paving slabs are so small that you can decide to lay a completely round garden patio, you could also add curves easily as well without having to cut the paving down. It also makes for a much easier job with the setts being the size and weight that they are.

How to Install Cobble Setts

We usually recommend hiring a professional Landscaper to carry out any jobs such as laying paving in your garden, however, depending on your DIY skills and past experience, you may be able to carry out this job yourself. Laying Cobble Setts in comparison to laying full size, garden paving slabs is a much less tiring task, due to the smaller sized Cobble Setts. What You'll Need

• Type 1 Limestone (or a similar Aggregate as a sub-base)
• Quality Rake
• Building Sand
• Cement
• Jointing Compound
• Rubber Mallet

1. After you've chosen where you'd like your cobble setts to go and ensured you have the right number, dig out the desired area to a depth of around 150mm. You'll need to remove any weeds and debris and check that the ground is dry and level.

2. Use building aggregates such as Type 1 Limestone for your sub-base, laying it at least 50mm in depth, spreading the aggregates evenly across so they are level 

3. (Optional) Use a Wacker Plate to compact the aggregate down which ensures a completely solid base

4. Mix your bag of cement with the desired amount of water until the consistency resembles a slurry; you can now spread the cement over your aggregate layer liberally, working small area by area

5. Place the Cobble Setts down where you'd like them to go, using a rubber mallet to press them into place. Ensure you leave a gap of at least 20mm between the Setts. 

6. Once the Cobble Setts have been laid, you can start preparing your grout, and joining the stones together. 

7. Depending on the grout you have used, this can take around 6 hours to fully set, so if rain is due that day, try and cover it with tarpaulin if you can.
