75mm Crushed Concrete

Regarded as one of the best Builder's Merchants in the South, Stone Zone takes immense pride in our ever-growing Trade range, which we have been working hard to keep updated with the highest quality products since our inception. The 75mm Crushed Concrete is a part of our top quality, great value collection, curated with Landscapers and Builders in mind.

The 75mm Crushed Concrete is also often referred to as Type 2 Hardcore. Crushed Concrete is a useful material for a wide range of Landscaping and Building projects. This includes projects such as sub-bases for driveways, building foundations and patios.

The Crushed Concrete we supply has been acquired from recycled, unwanted Concrete, collected from a range of landscaping sites and buildings. As a result of this process, our Crushed Concrete is much more cost-effective and is a more reasonably priced option when using it as a sub-base, where you'd potentially need large amounts.

Due to the fact that Crushed Concrete is made up of recycled materials, they are the more environmentally friendly option. No brand-new, virgin materials can be found within the Crushed Concrete. Furthermore, transporting the unwanted concrete and then the tipping process is all done locally and therefore will not contribute much to our carbon footprint.

75mm Crushed Concrete for Builders

If you are searching for an affordable sub-base to use for creating building foundations that will be long-lasting and remain sturdy for many years, then Crushed Concrete is the perfect material for you. It is unyielding and hardy, therefore difficult to damage.

Having similar attributes to Aquaflow and Type 1 Limestone, the Crushed Concrete has to go through tests in order to meet specific specifications in order to make it suitable for commercial use, like in building sites. This certification guarantees that there is as small an amount of debris within the aggregates as possible, therefore making it safe to use in larger projects.

Along with being a very affordable material, Crushed Concrete is very strong and long-lasting. Especially if you have taken care to set the concrete down carefully and in the correct manner, it will last for many years to come. In doing so the concrete will be in its best state to be removed from the ground and crushed down to the appropriate size.

Furthermore, one of our Concrete's best attributes is that they are permeable. Permeable materials are often preferred by builders and landscapers, who are now very conscious of the rules and regulations regarding sub-bases, as sub-bases that are 100% permeable aid in flood prevention. This also means that Concrete is much more environmentally friendly.

75mm Crushed Concrete for Landscapers

Plenty of Landscapers will choose to go with Crushed Concrete for sub-bases in garden patios and driveways. It is important that sub-bases be long-lasting and permeable, which is why Crushed Concrete is the preferred aggregate.

When you mix Crushed Concrete with other aggregates, like Scalpings, it is able to develop a hardy sub-base layer for both Natural Stone Slabs and Block Paving. As a result of the size of the pieces being 75mm max in size, they are graded and crushed to dust, which means they can be used to fill in small gaps.

Moreover, as well as working well as a paving base, the Crushed Concrete can also be used for laying a sub-base for driveways that may also have decorative elements, namely Shingle or Golden Gravel. Due to these aggregates being strong and durable, they are less likely to get crushed by parked cars and therefore are a great choice for a sturdy sub-base.

Along with Crushed concrete being used in areas like garden patios and driveways, another excellent way Crushed Concrete can be used is to create a durable foundation for garden sheds. As we have stated before, the Concrete is permeable, therefore it will help with flood prevention, meaning you will have an area in your garden that will be able to absorb large portions of water and hopefully help with flooding.

The Story Behind Crushed Concrete

It is not common knowledge that the Crushed Concrete we supply is a 100% recycled material. With more and more home and garden owners looking to refurbish their homes and gardens, there is also an increasing number of people getting rid of concrete bases in their gardens or around their houses.

A large number of Landscapers or Builders that have safely and properly removed this unwanted concrete from their various properties require an area where they can safely dispose of it. There is a local site in Dorset that takes this concrete crushes it down to various sizes and screens it to make sure there is no unwanted debris in it.

These recycling sites can be found all around the country, but ours being in Dorset, it is not far for the concrete to travel, therefore our carbon footprint is reduced significantly, making it a greener option.

The screening process makes sure that the sizes of the Crushed Concrete are consistent, as well as 75mm Down Crushed Concrete, we also supply 50mm Down Crushed Concrete. To make certain that our Crushed Concrete meets particular requirements and to achieve the specification, dangerous objects and debris are then removed for commercial safety, which in turn means that this concrete can be used in a wide variety of projects, both small and large.

This Crushed Concrete then gets delivered to our Distribution Centre in Dorset in large, loose loads for us then to bag up in our branded bulk bags, ready for delivery to customers.
