Adding some form of edging to your garden can really complete the look and transform your patio into a professional-looking landscape. Ivory Setts would look great laid around a garden patio that consists of Cappuccino Beige Porcelain Paving, or maybe natural paving such as Carbon Black Limestone Paving to create a bold contrast of colours. These would also look really good laid around the edges of your garden lawn. Whether you have Artificial Grass or natural Grass Turf, installing Stone Setts as edging will finish it off nicely. With these Bluestone Slim Setts being so versatile, it means you can also lay them as a garden patio. You could either lay them in a brick formation so they off off-set against each other, or you could lay them in a herringbone formation, which is becoming increasingly popular. As these Limestone Setts are 50mm thick, it means they are highly durable and able to cope with heavy footfall, making them ideal for family garden patios. Please note: 100 pieces of 200x50x50mm Setts cover approx. 1 square metre (with a 10mm joint). Please call us on 01202 874207 for any further enquiries. 1. Prepare the area You'll need to use Type 1 Scalps as your sub-base. Use a Wacker Plate to compact it down tightly. Use Cement and spread across this area liberally to create your slurry base. 2. Decide on the centre Once you've established the centre of the patio, mark this area out, and then use a level to draw a straight reference line. Place the first Paving Setts along this reference line, focusing on precide alignment. 3. Lay the remaining Paving Continue to lay the remaining Paving Setts in a zig-zag herringbone pattern, checking the alignment as you go. 4. Finish off the edges Using a Paving Cutter, cut the remaining edges down to create a straight line (if desired). Finish with a Grout such as EasyJoint Select or use Sharp Sand and Cement.Read More...
