How to lay Paving in Herringbone pattern

1. Prepare the Base
Start by laying a sub-base of Type 1 Scalps and compact it using a Wacker Plate. Then, apply a generous layer of cement slurry over the area to form a strong bonding base.

2. Mark the Centre
Find and mark the centre point of your patio. Use a spirit level to draw a straight reference line and carefully lay your first setts along this line to ensure accurate alignment.

3. Lay the Setts
Begin laying the remaining Paving Setts in a herringbone pattern, working outward from the centre. Check alignment regularly to maintain a consistent zig-zag design.

4. Tidy the Edges
Trim any uneven edges using a paving cutter to create a clean finish. Complete the job with a suitable grout, like EasyJoint Select, or a mix of sharp sand and cement.
