VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be installed directly over existing tarmac or asphalt, but for maximum strength and a superior finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system. Designed for durability and long-term performance, it ensures a flawless, premium surface built to last.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt exists, excavate to a minimum depth of 100mm and add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to form a strong, stable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Spread the hardcore evenly and compact thoroughly using a Wacker Plate or similar equipment until the foundation is firm and level.

3. First Layer of SRM
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming as needed. SRM is available in various sizes to suit different project requirements.

4. Apply the VubaMac Base
Mix and spread the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available via the VUBA website). Follow the full VubaMac installation guide for optimal results.

5. Second Layer of SRM
Place a second SRM sheet over the freshly applied VubaMac base. Allow approximately one hour for curing to ensure maximum strength for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

6. Mix the Resin Kit
Once the base has cured, prepare your chosen VUBA Resin Kit. Blend the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz in a heavy-duty mixer, then transfer to a lined wheelbarrow for easier handling.

7. Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Apply the resin mixture in small, controlled sections. Smooth and level the surface with a trowel using firm, even pressure. Continue until the area is fully covered, creating a seamless, durable, and visually striking finish.
