How to lay Paving in Herringbone pattern
Start by laying a sub-base using Type 1 scalpings and compact it thoroughly with a Wacker Plate. Next, apply a generous layer of cement slurry to create a solid, long-lasting bonding surface.
Locate and mark the central point of your patio. Use a spirit level to draw a straight reference line, then carefully lay your first row of setts along this line to ensure precise alignment.
Lay the remaining paving setts in a herringbone pattern, working outwards from the centre. Regularly check your alignment to keep the zig-zag pattern consistent and well-balanced.
Use a paving cutter to trim any irregular edges for a clean, professional finish. Complete the installation with a suitable jointing option, such as EasyJoint Select or a mix of sharp sand and cement.
