How to Lay Porcelain Paving
For the best chances of a long-lasting garden patio that won't have any of the typical problems such as weeds coming through the joints and the paving slabs lifting over time, it's important that you consider hiring a professional to lay your porcelain paving. Below is a few tips on how we recommend the slabs are laid.
Building Sand or Washed Grit makes a stable and durable base layer to start the process off, alongside Scalpings to create an additional sub-base layer for the paving to sit on.
As a leading paving supplier, we also sell a variety of jointing compounds that you can choose from to hold the paving slabs together. The following options are: Azpects Easy Joint Select and the VillaFix Porcelain Grout. Both of these jointing compounds are high quality and permeable compounds, that will look great for many years and will also prevent the growth of weeds through the joints.
Moreover, you will be able to lay the paving directly onto a suitable decorative stone, which is a much-loved option if you want to create a stone walkway through your garden.
If you prefer, you can also lay the paving onto a pedestal and easy grid systems rather than directly on the ground.
Should I Choose Porcelain Paving?
Due to its manufacturing process, Porcelain Paving is guaranteed to last decades, as long as it has been laid correctly.
During the manufacturing process, the Porcelain Paving slabs are kiln-fired at high temperatures of 1400 degrees. This ensures maximum strength and durability; a strength that traditional natural sandstone couldn't even compare to.
With Porcelain Paving for your garden, there are so many more colours and designs to choose from compared to Sandstone or Limestone paving. Where they are designed and printed on each slab, you can ensure consistency if you are looking to create a perfect, modern garden.
