Installation Options

VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be installed directly over existing tarmac or asphalt, but for maximum strength and a premium finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system. Specially engineered for durability and long-term performance, it ensures a flawless, high-quality surface built to last.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If there is no existing tarmac or asphalt, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to form a solid, stable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Spread the hardcore evenly, then compact it thoroughly with a Wacker Plate (or similar equipment) until the foundation is firm and level.

3. Install the First SRM Layer
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming it to fit as required. SRM is available in different sizes to suit various projects.

4. Apply the VubaMac Base
Mix and spread the VubaMac base evenly using a heavy-duty roller (available on the VUBA website). For best results, follow the full VubaMac installation guide.

5. Add the Second SRM Layer
Place a second sheet of SRM on top of the freshly laid VubaMac base. Allow approximately one hour for curing to achieve maximum strength for pedestrian and vehicle use.

6. Mix the Resin Kit
Once the base has cured, prepare your chosen VUBA Resin Kit. Combine the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz in a heavy-duty mixer, then transfer the mix into a lined wheelbarrow for easier application.

7. Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Apply the resin mixture in small, manageable sections. Smooth and level the surface with a trowel, using firm and even pressure. Continue until the entire area is covered, creating a seamless, durable, and visually striking finish.
