Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Resin Bound Surfacing

1. Ground Preparation
Where no existing base is suitable, excavate the area to at least 100mm deep. Lay approximately 30mm of MOT Type 1 Limestone to form a stable and reliable foundation.

2. Laying & Compacting Hardcore
Spread hardcore evenly across the area, level it out, and compact thoroughly with a plate compactor (Wacker Plate) to create a solid sub-base.

3. Installing Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM)
For driveways or load-bearing areas, fit the first sheet of SRM reinforcement mesh, trimming it neatly to size where required.

4. Applying the VubaMac Base
Roll out the VubaMac base layer with a heavy-duty roller (available through VUBA). Always follow the official VubaMac installation instructions for correct mixing and application.

5. Adding a Second SRM Layer
Once the base is in place, lay a second sheet of SRM mesh over the surface. Allow at least one hour of curing time so the layers form a strong, chemically bonded system suitable for vehicle traffic and heavy use.

6. Mixing the Resin Bound Blend
Using a forced-action mixer, combine the Resin Binder, Decorative Stones, and Binding Quartz until the blend is fully consistent. Transfer the mixture into a lined wheelbarrow for easy movement.

7. Trowelling & Surface Finishing
Apply the resin-bound mix in small, manageable sections. Use firm, consistent strokes with a steel trowel to smooth and level the surface. The result is a seamless, SuDS-compliant finish that delivers both durability and contemporary style.
