Step-by-Step Resin Bound Installation Guide

1. Preparing the Ground
If no suitable base is present, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Lay around 30mm of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a strong, stable foundation.

2. Installing & Compacting Hardcore
Spread the hardcore evenly, level it, and compact it thoroughly using a plate compactor (Wacker Plate) to form a durable sub-base.

3. Laying Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM)
For driveways or areas subject to heavy loads, install the first sheet of SRM reinforcement mesh, trimming to size where necessary.

4. Applying the VubaMac Base Layer
Roll out the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available from VUBA). Always follow the official VubaMac installation guide for precise mixing and application.

5. Adding the Second SRM Layer
After applying the base, position a second sheet of SRM mesh over the surface. Allow at least one hour of curing time to ensure a strong, chemically bonded structure capable of withstanding vehicles and heavy use.

6. Mixing the Resin Bound System
In a forced-action mixer, combine the Resin Binder, Decorative Aggregates, and Binding Quartz until the mixture is completely uniform. Transfer into a lined wheelbarrow for easier handling.

7. Trowelling & Finishing the Surface
Apply the mixture in manageable sections, using steady, firm strokes with a steel trowel. Work evenly across the surface to achieve a seamless, hard-wearing, and SuDS-compliant finish that balances style with performance.
