VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be installed directly over existing tarmac or asphalt surfaces. However, for the ultimate durability and a premium finish, we recommend using the award-winning VubaMac base system—specially engineered to deliver exceptional strength, long-term performance, and a flawless, high-quality appearance.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

• Ground Preparation
  If no tarmac or asphalt is present, excavate the area to a depth of at least 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to form a strong, stable sub-base.
• Compact the Base
  Spread the hardcore evenly and compact thoroughly with a Wacker Plate or similar equipment until the foundation is firm, level, and ready for the next stage.
• Install the First Layer of SRM
  Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming to size where required. SRM is available in multiple sizes to suit different project needs.
• Apply the VubaMac Base
  Mix and apply the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website). For best results, follow the full VubaMac installation guide carefully.
• Add the Second Layer of SRM
  Place a second SRM sheet directly over the freshly applied VubaMac base. Allow approximately one hour for curing—this bonding step ensures superior strength for both vehicles and pedestrians.
• Mix the Resin Kit
  Once the base has cured, prepare your selected VUBA Resin Kit. In a heavy-duty mixer, blend the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz. Transfer the mixture into a lined wheelbarrow for easy handling.
• Lay the Resin Bound Surface
  Apply the resin mixture in small, controlled sections. Use a trowel with firm, even pressure to smooth and level the surface. Continue until the area is fully covered, resulting in a seamless, robust, and visually impressive resin bound finish.
