Installation Options

VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be applied directly over existing tarmac or asphalt. For maximum durability and a premium finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system—designed to provide exceptional strength, long-lasting performance, and a flawless, high-quality surface.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt is present, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a stable, strong sub-base.

Compact the Base
Evenly spread the hardcore and compact thoroughly using a Wacker Plate or similar equipment until the foundation is firm, level, and ready for the next step.

Install the First Layer of SRM
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming as needed. SRM comes in multiple sizes to suit different project requirements.

Apply the VubaMac Base
Mix and spread the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website). For optimal results, follow the full VubaMac installation guide.

Add the Second Layer of SRM
Place a second SRM sheet directly over the freshly applied VubaMac base. Allow roughly one hour for curing—this ensures maximum strength for both pedestrian and vehicle use.

Mix the Resin Kit
Once the base has cured, prepare your chosen VUBA Resin Kit. Blend the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz in a heavy-duty mixer, then transfer to a lined wheelbarrow for easier handling.

Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Apply the resin mixture in small, controlled sections. Use a trowel with firm, even pressure to smooth and level the surface. Continue until the area is fully covered, creating a seamless, durable, and visually striking resin bound finish.
