VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be applied directly over existing tarmac or asphalt driveways. For the strongest, most durable results and a premium finish, we recommend installing them on the award-winning VubaMac base system—specially engineered for exceptional strength, longevity, and performance.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If there is no existing tarmac or asphalt, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Lay a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to establish a stable and dependable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Spread the hardcore evenly and compact it thoroughly using a Wacker Plate or similar compactor. Continue until the foundation is firm, level, and ready for the next stage.

3. Install the First Layer of SRM
For driveways, position the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming to size where necessary. SRM is available in multiple sizes to accommodate different project specifications.

4. Lay the VubaMac Base
Mix and apply the VubaMac base with a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website). For best results, follow the full VubaMac installation guide closely.

5. Add the Second Layer of SRM
Place a second sheet of SRM directly onto the freshly laid VubaMac base. Allow approximately 1 hour to cure—this bonding process ensures superior strength and durability for both pedestrian and vehicle use.

6. Mix Your Resin Kit
Once the base has fully cured, prepare your selected VUBA Resin Kit. In a heavy-duty mixer, combine the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz. Transfer the blended mixture into a lined wheelbarrow for straightforward application.

7. Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Apply the resin mix in small, manageable sections. Use a trowel with firm, even pressure to smooth and level the surface. Work systematically until the entire area is covered, leaving a seamless, hardwearing, and visually impressive resin bound finish.
