As paving stones go, Sandstone and Porcelain Paving consist of completely different features. Porcelain Paving is manufactured in a factory where the stone is made to replicate natural stone paving. Due to its man-made nature, Porcelain paving will obtain a higher standard in comparison to natural stone. This particular Porcelain Paving has been rectified during its manufacturing process. This ensures that the paving slabs are finished with sharp, perfect edges to be dimensionally accurate and are identical to each other, almost eliminating any tile variation. To achieve this, the slabs have been grinded and polished during the process. This manufacturing process ensured our porcelain is completely non-porous and water proof as well as resistant to mould, moss and frost. It also maintains its R11 skid value, being non-slip and safe for pool surrounds. In contrast to this, Sandstone is a completely natural stone derived from quarries in India. For this reason, this stone will be naturally permeable and allow water through the slabs. Arguably, this makes Sandstone paving the more eco-friendly option, as it will absorb rain water, preventing the cause of floods. It is also a naturally formed product, as opposed to being manufactured at high temperatures. Porcelain Paving, on the other hand, requires very little maintenance, it will stand the test of time in terms of it's looks and will not change in colour or require sealing. Sandstone will require regular sealing to prevent the colours from fading completely, but will naturally change colour in the sun over time. Porcelain Paving requires very little maintenance, we recommend hosing down or jet washing your garden paving every 6 months and generally keeping it free of any debris. Although this paving should be stain resistant, we advise cleaning any spillages straight away.Read More...
