How to lay Paving in Herringbone pattern
Begin by laying a sub-base of Type 1 scalpings and compact it firmly using a Wacker Plate. Then, apply a generous layer of cement slurry to form a strong, durable bonding layer.
Find the centre point of your patio and mark it clearly. Use a spirit level to draw a straight guideline, and lay your first row of setts along this line to ensure perfect alignment from the start.
Continue laying the remaining setts in a herringbone pattern, working outward from the centre. Check the alignment regularly to maintain a consistent, well-structured zig-zag layout.
Cut any uneven edges using a paving cutter to achieve a clean, polished border. Finish the installation with a suitable jointing material, such as EasyJoint Select or a mix of sharp sand and cement, for a neat and secure result.
