Azpects Easy Joint, Basalt
Azpects is the prestigious UK brand behind the original sweep-in jointing compound, widely recognised as the first All Weather Paving Joint Compound. Manufactured in the UK with sustainability and environmental responsibility at its core, Azpects EASYJoint has become one of our best-selling paving products and a firm favourite for natural stone jointing.
EASYJoint is available in five natural shades designed to complement sandstone paving, making it an ideal choice for natural stone installations. It is also suitable for use with concrete and porcelain paving, while Azpects’ EasyJoint Select and EasyGrout offer alternative solutions specifically tailored for porcelain projects. The Easy Joint is available in Stone Grey, Mushroom and Buff Sand.
True to its name, EASYJoint is incredibly simple to apply. Just soak the paving with water, then sweep and wash the compound into the joints—letting the water do the work. There’s no need for kneeling or manual compression, making installation quicker, cleaner, and far less strenuous.
Beyond ease of use, EASYJoint offers excellent environmental benefits. Its permeable structure allows rainwater to drain naturally through the joints, helping to reduce surface water and the risk of flash flooding. Once installed, it delivers a strong, durable finish that withstands the elements and lasts longer than traditional jointing methods, all while enhancing paving with its natural, sand-based appearance. EASYJoint is suitable for all paving, including Porcelain, Sandstone and Limestone slabs with joints of at least 3mm wide and 25mm deep, ensuring a reliable, long-lasting result.

Using EASYJoint requires very little landscaping experience or specialist skill, making it suitable for both DIYers and professionals. It’s a hands-on process, so working with a second person is recommended. All you’ll need is a hosepipe, a good-quality sweeping brush, and ideally a pointing tool to achieve a neat, professional finish. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 PLEASE NOTE: EASYJoint is not suitable for areas with poor drainage or sites that remain consistently wet, as it is a natural, permeable jointing compound designed to allow water to pass freely through the joints. When first applied, the compound has a clean, bright appearance; however, due to its permeable nature and exposure to the elements, it may gradually change in colour over time. This is completely normal and can include the natural build-up of dirt, algae, or mould, all of which can usually be removed easily with routine cleaning and maintenance. In terms of strength, EASYJoint is engineered to withstand the downward loads typically exerted by pedestrians and domestic vehicles, making it suitable for patios, pathways, and light-use driveways. However, it is not intended to act as a structural component of the paving installation. For long-term performance and stability, it is essential that the paving slabs are properly bedded onto a well-prepared base, constructed to the correct specification. The durability and integrity of the finished surface ultimately depend on the quality of the sub-base and bedding layer, rather than the jointing compound itself.Read More...
How to use Azpects EasyJoint Grout
Once you’ve chosen your paving, measure the area where your patio will be installed. When calculating quantities, remember that paving joints must be at least 3mm wide and 20mm deep to ensure EASYJoint performs correctly.
After laying the slabs and leaving the required joint gaps, thoroughly soak the paving with water—especially if you’re using permeable materials such as sandstone or limestone. Pour the EASYJoint compound onto the wet surface and add water until it forms a slurry.
EASYJoint is an all-weather compound, meaning it can be applied in both hot and cold conditions—rainy weather is actually ideal. Using a sweeping brush, work the slurry into the joints while keeping the surface wet. This is the most time-sensitive stage, so work efficiently, particularly in warm or dry weather, to prevent the compound from drying out too quickly.
Once all joints are fully filled, rinse the paving thoroughly with a hosepipe to remove any residue and ensure the joints are saturated. This also helps compress the compound for a stronger finish.
Finish by smoothing the joints with a pointing tool to create a clean, tidy appearance and complete the job with a professional touch.
