Umbra Kandla Grey Sandstone Paving is our best-selling Sandstone Paving range. Consisting of natural, modern shades of mid-grey tones, these grey paving slabs are an all-around winner for anyone looking for a stunning outdoor patio for their garden.
These paving flagstones have a rustic texture for a characteristic finish to any property. If you’re looking for natural garden ideas and love the idea of adding a garden patio, these might be the ones for you.
This stone paving range is calibrated, ensuring an even consistency as well as high quality and strong, long-lasting durability.
Due to these paving slabs being a naturally-formed stone, this paving has a higher porosity compared to manufactured, Porcelain Paving. This means that the paving will allow moisture to penetrate its surface, so will weather naturally over time.

Looking After Your Paving
To ensure the colour remains looking as it did when you laid it, you can use Azpects Easy Seal, this also acts as a protection layer against the weather and any spillages that occur on the paving.
We recommend jet washing your Sandstone Patio every 6 months to ensure its kept clean and free of any debris.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Limestone Paving?
Both Sandstone and Limestone Paving are naturally derived from stone quarries in India, and are very similar.
However, Sandstone is a more naturally durable stone than Limestone; Limestone being slightly more brittle.
Original colours can be maintained for Sandstone Paving, whereas certain Limestone colours will naturally fade, even if Sealer has been used.
We offer more variety of paving options for Sandstone paving, including Sawn options that come complete with a smoother finish. The Sawn version of Kandla Grey Sandstone is Sawn Shadow Kandla Paving.
Some of the Limestone paving must be sealed to ensure the colour is maintained, whereas sealing your Sandstone Paving is optional.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving?
Sandstone and Porcelain Paving are completely different in both senses; Sandstone is naturally formed stone with a riven surface, and Porcelain Paving is manufactured stone with a smooth finish to them.
Sandstone is great for gardens wanting a natural look and feel, Porcelain is great for modern gardens wanting to have a unique, artistic look to them.
Sandstone will naturally weather over time, with the surface texture and colour changing slightly. Porcelain, however, will keep its colours and finishes due to its manmade nature. With this considered, both Sandstone and Porcelain are non-slip, even in the rain, and graded to R11.
Sandstone paving has a little more maintenance involved, as it will need jet washing every 6 months, whereas Porcelain paving just requires a hose down every 6 months to remove debris and dirt.
If you like the look of Kandla Grey Sandstone, but prefer the qualities of Porcelain Paving, take a look at our ‘Natural’ Porcelain Paving range; ‘Natural’ Kandla Grey Porcelain Paving is the porcelain ‘dupe’ of this popular natural stone paving.
