What is the difference between sandstone and limestone?
Sandstone typically has a riven surface with more dramatic colour variation, seen in ranges like Raj Green and Kandla Grey. Limestone is denser with a smoother, more uniform face, which is why shades like Carbon Black suit sleek, contemporary designs.
Will my natural stone change colour over time?
Yes, gently. Natural stone weathers and develops a soft patina, and darker stones like black limestone can lighten with UV exposure. Treatments such as Azpects Back to Black restore the depth of faded black limestone, and sealing slows colour change.
What should natural stone paving be laid on?
Lay slabs on a full mortar bed over a compacted Type 1 sub-base, with a cement slurry applied to the back of each slab for a solid bond. Finish with roughly 10mm joints using a jointing compound such as EASYJoint or a sand and cement mix.

Is natural stone good for gardens with poor drainage?

How do I clean natural stone without damaging it?
Avoid acid-based cleaners, which can etch and discolour the stone. Regular sweeping plus an occasional wash with a product like Azpects Easy Patio and Deck Cleaner keeps slabs fresh, and jet washing is best limited to a couple of times a year.
