To keep your VUBA resin-bound surface looking its best—especially in lighter shades where dirt shows more easily—regular cleaning is essential. Power washing is highly effective, but be sure to hold the lance at a 90° angle and maintain a minimum distance of 300mm to protect the surface and prevent aggregate displacement. Oil, Dirt & Debris Oil spills from fuel or lubricants can quickly soak into your resin-bound surface, leading to stubborn stains. Act fast—use an absorbent material to clean spills immediately. For tougher marks, apply an emulsifying degreaser designed for resin surfaces. Avoid prolonged use of harsh solvents, and for more challenging stains, get in touch with the experts at VUBA for tailored advice. Weeds, Moss & Lichen Although a permeable membrane beneath your resin-bound surface helps reduce weed growth, occasional weeds may still appear and can be easily removed with a jet wash. In shaded or damp areas, moss, algae, or lichen may develop—treat these with manufacturer-approved solutions to keep your surface looking clean and pristine. Fruit, Berries & Leaves Organic debris such as fallen leaves or fruit can cause unsightly stains if left on your resin-bound surface. To prevent discolouration, clear debris promptly. For existing stains, use a cleaning solution made from 1.5L of sodium hypochlorite, 4.5L of water, and 100ml of a gentle, non-oxidising shampoo (like baby shampoo). Apply evenly, scrub with a stiff brush, and rinse thoroughly—taking care to protect nearby plants from runoff. Rust & Tyre Marks Rust stains can occasionally occur on resin-bound surfaces due to metal furniture, BBQs, or naturally present pyrite within the aggregates. While rare, moisture can activate pyrite, leading to rust marks. To treat these, apply a non-acidic rust remover as recommended by the manufacturer. Tyre marks, on the other hand, are usually easy to remove with steam cleaning or by scrubbing with hot water and a mild detergent. Resin Bound Aggregates are quickly becoming a favouritve amongst home-owners as their choice of drive or pathway material, and Landscapers are quick to recommend this product as a long-lasting, permeable solution too. VUBA Resin Surfaces combine beauty, durability, and practicality, making them a slightly more luxurious option in comparison to alternative materials such as Sandstone, Limestone, Porcelain, or Composite Decking. Here’s what makes them stand out: Permeable and Eco-Conscious Resin-bound surfaces are fully permeable, allowing rainwater to drain through naturally—making them SuDS-compliant and ideal for sustainable landscaping. This smart feature helps prevent puddling, reduces the risk of localised flooding, and supports natural groundwater recharge, offering both eco-friendly performance and long-term practicality. Built to Last Built for durability, resin-bound driveways withstand heavy traffic without cracking or deteriorating. Their resilient surface resists frost damage, weed growth, and the buildup of moss or algae—delivering a long-lasting, low-maintenance finish that stays looking pristine year after year. Low Maintenance Maintaining your resin-bound driveway is easy and hassle-free. Regular sweeping and the occasional power wash are usually all it takes to keep it looking fresh. Thanks to its smooth, non-porous surface, dirt and debris are less likely to stick—saving you time and effort on upkeep. Safe and Slip-Resistant Naturally slip-resistant, these resin-bound surfaces deliver dependable traction even in wet or icy conditions. Perfect for homes in any climate, they provide extra safety and peace of mind for you and your family year-round. Design Flexibility Choose from a wide selection of colours and textures with resin-bound aggregates, customizable to perfectly complement your property’s style. Whether you want to make a bold statement or achieve subtle elegance, the sleek, modern finish instantly boosts your home’s curb appeal. UV Stable and Fade-Resistant Crafted with UV-stable resins, these surfaces maintain their vibrant colour and brilliance—even under prolonged sun exposure. Enjoy a driveway that stays fresh and vivid year after year. Long-Term Value While resin-bound paving may have a higher upfront cost than some traditional materials, its long lifespan, low maintenance needs, and stunning visual appeal make it a smart, cost-effective investment for the future.
