Installation Options

VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be installed directly over existing tarmac or asphalt. However, for maximum strength and a superior finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system—engineered for outstanding durability, long-term performance, and a flawless, high-quality surface.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt exists, excavate the area to at least 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to form a strong, stable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Spread the hardcore evenly and compact thoroughly with a Wacker Plate or similar equipment until the foundation is firm and level.

3. Install the First Layer of SRM
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming as needed. SRM is available in multiple sizes to suit different project requirements.

4. Apply the VubaMac Base
Mix and spread the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website). Follow the full VubaMac installation guide for best results.

5. Add the Second Layer of SRM
Place a second SRM sheet directly over the freshly applied VubaMac base. Allow approximately one hour for curing to ensure maximum strength for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

6. Mix the Resin Kit
Once the base has cured, prepare your selected VUBA Resin Kit. Blend the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz in a heavy-duty mixer, then transfer to a lined wheelbarrow for easy handling.

7. Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Apply the resin mixture in small, controlled sections. Use a trowel with firm, even pressure to smooth and level the surface. Continue until the area is fully covered, resulting in a seamless, durable, and visually striking finish.
