Step-by-Step Guide to Resin Bound Installation

1. Ground Preparation
Where no suitable base exists, excavate the area to a depth of at least 100mm. Lay a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a stable foundation.

2. Laying & Compacting Hardcore
Spread the hardcore evenly, level it, and compact thoroughly with a plate compactor (Wacker Plate) to form a solid sub-base.

3. Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM)
For driveways and heavy-use areas, lay the first sheet of SRM to provide additional reinforcement. Cut to fit as required.

4. Applying the VubaMac Base
Mix and roll out the VubaMac base layer using a heavy-duty roller (available from VUBA). For detailed instructions, refer to the official VubaMac installation guide.

5. Adding a Second SRM Layer
Once the base has been applied, place a second layer of SRM mesh on top. Allow at least one hour for curing, ensuring a tough, chemically bonded structure that can withstand vehicles and high foot traffic.

6. Mixing the Resin Bound Kit
In a heavy-duty mixer, combine the Resin Binder, Decorative Aggregates, and Binding Quartz until thoroughly blended. Pour the mix into a lined wheelbarrow for easy application.

7. Trowelling & Finishing
Apply the mixture in small sections, using firm, steady pressure with a steel trowel. Spread evenly until the entire surface is covered, leaving a seamless, durable, and fully SuDS-compliant resin bound surface that delivers both style and performance.
