Heritage Quartz Chippings 10mm
Want to create a garden that is completely exceptional and one-of-a-kind? The 10mm Heritage Quartz Chippings will help you achieve that look perfectly. They contain Quartz, marble and Granite stones to create an unusual and elegant mix.
With this beautiful mesh of top-quality, valuable natural stones, the pop of colour you get will elevate any space. The colours that are most noticeable when these stones are laid out are the stones with a gentle, buff shade, and if you want to take a closer inspection of the marble stones especially, you will be able to see the natural, streaks and lines throughout the out the stones, making them that much more unique. You will also see stones in a slightly deeper shade of reds and oranges, but they are in no way over the top or bright that is also in a soft, cloudy shade.
Although the Heritage Quartz Chippings are in an angular shape, we do not recommend using the 10mm ones for your driveway or pathway as they are too small and therefore unable to create a stable base.

How to Lay Heritage Quartz Chippings in Your Garden
if you are considering or debating about purchasing Heritage Quartz Chippings to create an aesthetically please garden feature or border, we have created a guide filled with useful tricks and tips to help you get stuck in. As we have mentioned earlier, it is not a difficult project to take on!
The first step, before creating a base layer, would be to measure out, using a tape measure, where and how big the space where your chippings will be laid is. After you get a good idea of how big the area is, you can go to our website and use the Quantity Calculator that will work out, for you, how much base layer and Heritage Chippings you will need to create a secure surface. As a rule of thumb, we recommend that you have a base of 50mm.
As used by both professionals and long-time DIY-ers, we would strongly suggest that you use Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone to create your base. This has a soft yet thick, not dissimilar to clay consistency which will be a cushion-like base layer for your stones to lay on and to create a stable surface overall.
Once that is down, you can now dig out your marked area with a depth between 50mm - 150mm, making sure that space accounts for50mm for your MOT Type 1 base and 50mm for your Heritage Chippings.
Add your 40mm Limestone Type 1 to the space you dug out and please take care and make sure a minimum of 50mm is laid. Not only will this provide a strong and stable base, but it will also aid drainage.
There are many ways to prevent your garden from getting weeds, but the most effective and popular method is to use a strong Weed Fabric, to keep them from overtaking your garden. You can find an excellent range of Weed Fabric at Stone Zone with a wide selection of sizes, so you can purchase the one that's most appropriate for your garden.
Once you have installed the Fabric securely, you can start dropping in your Heritage Quartz Chippings! Please keep in mind to add at least 50mm depth's worth of chippings for the best results.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal they’re true colour.
