Installation Options

VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be applied directly over existing tarmac or asphalt driveways. For maximum durability and a superior finish, we recommend installing them on the award-winning VubaMac base system.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt is in place, excavate to a minimum depth of 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a stable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Distribute the hardcore evenly and compact thoroughly with a Wacker Plate (or similar) until the foundation is firm and level.

3. First Layer of SRM
For driveways, install the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming to size as needed. SRM is available in multiple sizes to suit your project.

4. Install the VubaMac Base
Mix and apply the VubaMac base with a heavy-duty roller (available via the VUBA website). Follow the full VubaMac installation guide for best results.

5. Second Layer of SRM
Lay a second sheet of SRM directly over the fresh VubaMac base. Allow around 1 hour to cure—during this time, the SRM bonds chemically with the base, adding long-term strength for both pedestrian and vehicle use.

6. Mix Your Resin Kit
Once cured, prepare your chosen VUBA Resin Kit. In a heavy-duty mixer, blend the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz. Transfer the mix into a lined wheelbarrow, ready to lay.

7. Lay the Resin Bound Surface
Trowel the resin mix in small sections, applying firm, even pressure. Smooth as you go until the surface is fully covered—leaving a seamless, durable, and visually striking resin bound finish.
