VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be laid directly over existing tarmac or asphalt surfaces. For maximum durability and a truly premium finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system—engineered to provide outstanding strength, long-lasting performance, and a seamless, high-quality appearance.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt is in place, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a stable and reliable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Distribute the hardcore evenly, then compact it thoroughly with a Wacker Plate or similar equipment until the foundation is solid, level, and ready for the next stage.

3. Install the First Layer of SRM
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM) for driveways, cutting to fit as needed. SRM is available in various sizes to suit different project requirements.

4. Apply the VubaMac Base
Mix and spread the VubaMac base with a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website). For optimal results, follow the detailed VubaMac installation guide.

5. Add the Second Layer of SRM
Place a second sheet of SRM over the newly applied VubaMac base. Allow around one hour for curing—this bonding process delivers exceptional strength for both pedestrian and vehicle use.

6. Mix the Resin Kit
Once the base has fully cured, prepare your chosen VUBA Resin Kit. Combine the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz in a heavy-duty mixer, then transfer the mixture to a lined wheelbarrow for ease of application.

Work in small, manageable sections. Spread the resin mix evenly, smoothing and levelling with a trowel using firm, consistent pressure. Continue until the entire area is covered, leaving a seamless, durable, and visually striking resin bound finish.
