Installation Options

VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be applied directly over existing tarmac or asphalt driveways. For the strongest, most durable finish, we recommend installing them on the award-winning VubaMac base system.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation

If no tarmac or asphalt is in place, excavate the area to a depth of at least 100mm.
Lay a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a stable, reliable sub-base.

2. Compacting the Base

Spread the hardcore aggregate evenly across the area.
Compact thoroughly with a Wacker Plate or similar machine until a firm, level foundation is achieved.

3. First Layer of SRM

For driveways, install the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM), trimming to fit as required.
SRM is available in a variety of sizes to suit your project.

4. Installing the VubaMac Base

Mix and apply the VubaMac base using a heavy-duty roller (available from the VUBA website).

5. Second Layer of SRM

Lay a second sheet of SRM directly on top of the fresh VubaMac base.
Allow to cure for around 1 hour, during which the SRM chemically bonds with the base—delivering exceptional strength for both pedestrian and vehicular use.

6. Mixing Your Resin Kit

Once the base has cured, prepare your selected VUBA Resin Kit.
In a heavy-duty mixer, combine the Resin Binder, Aggregates, and Binding Quartz.
Transfer the mix into a lined wheelbarrow, ready for application.

7. Laying the Resin Bound Surface

Using a trowel and firm, even pressure, spread the resin mix in small, manageable sections.
Continue trowelling and smoothing until the area is fully covered, leaving a seamless, durable, and visually striking resin bound surface.
