UltraScape Flowpoint Smooth is perfect for smooth paving stones and slabs, creating a seamless, professional finish for your project. With its high fluid consistency, it allows for early trafficking while meeting the stringent requirements of BS 7533. This grout is ideal for any pavement requiring rigid, bound, and void-free joints. Suitable for town centre pedestrian schemes, pathways, and carriageways, it works effortlessly with natural stone, concrete flags, and clay pavers.

UltraScape Flowpoint Smooth is a fully pre-mixed dry-pack grout that requires only the addition of water on-site. It can fill joints from 4mm to 50mm wide, with a minimum target depth of 20mm and up to 200mm in a single application. This highly fluid grout achieves a final compressive strength of 49.6 N/mm² (using 4.25 litres of water per 25kg bag), sets initially within 20 minutes, allows light foot traffic after 1 hour, and is ready for vehicular traffic after 4 hours, depending on temperature.

Before applying the grout, make sure all joints are free from debris and any standing water is removed. Thoroughly pre-soak the paving surface and joints, keeping them wet throughout the jointing process. Mix one 25kg bag with 4.25 litres of water for 3–5 minutes until a smooth, lump-free consistency is formed.

Apply the mortar immediately after mixing; do not store liquid mortar except during transit from the mixer. Using a suitable rubber squeegee, carefully force the mortar into the joints, ensuring they are fully filled. Continuously move the mortar across the surface to top up any joints that may have slumped after initial placement. Remove as much excess mortar as possible with the squeegee. Keep the surface moist at all times with a fine spray of water. Once the jointing mortar has hardened or reached its initial set, thoroughly clean the paving with a brush and plenty of water, ensuring no residue remains on the surface.

Important Notes: Always carry out a small trial first to confirm compatibility with the stone, as Instarmac cannot test every stone type. Clean tools regularly during use, and only mix enough material that can be applied within 4 minutes. Do not remix or add additional water once mixed. Wear suitable protective clothing and take care to avoid skin and eye contact, as wet cement can cause burns. Remember that cool temperatures will slow curing, while warmer conditions will accelerate it.

Safety Guidance: Always wear suitable PPE when preparing, mixing, and applying products. Wash hands thoroughly before eating or drinking, and keep all materials safely out of reach of children and animals. Dispose of packaging and waste responsibly, following your local authority’s regulations.

Storage Instructions: Keep in the original, sealed packaging at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C, and protect from frost. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry place, raised off the ground, and shielded from excessive drafts. When stored correctly and used within 8 months of the date shown on the bag, the reducing agent will remain active, ensuring that when mixed with water, the product will contain no more than 0.0002% (2 ppm) soluble Chromium (VI) of the total dry weight of the cement.
