How to Apply the Joint-It Epoxy Porcelain Grout?

The first step, even before handling the Epoxy Grout is to ensure that your patio slabs are cleared of any dirt and debris and are completely bone dry. Before undertaking this project, we suggest checking the weather and making sure there’s no rain on the days before and after you work on this project.

Step two is to apply a healthy coat of Anti-Bonding Wax all over the paving joints, make sure to slather it over the sides and the top of the joints to ensure maximum coverage. Make sure that you are not skimping on the wax and putting on as much as possible as that will make your life much simpler in the future.

Step three is to use the Joint-It Epoxy Manual Application Gun to steadily apply the Grout in the Porcelain Joints. When applying the grout with the Application Gun, don’t hesitate to squeeze out enough product to cover above the level of the tiles; this is an important step as it ensures that the grout is being applied to every nook and cranny of the joints.

Step four is to neaten up the area further. With a rounded finishing tool, line it up with the jointing and pill it through the grouting. This is done to ensure that the grouting looks clean and seamless on your patio rather than sticking out and being bumpy.

Finally, once you have followed the steps above and applied the Grout throughout your entire patio, leave it alone to allow it to dry up and harden completely. Once that is done, get your hands on a blade or scraper to carefully and gently peel off any of the excess grouting. If you remember, we advised you to apply a generous amount of wax in Step Two – this is the reason why, the wax makes it much easier to remove the excess grout.
