Easihold is a specially formulated gravel binder designed to securely hold stones ranging from 4–20mm in size. For the best results, apply Easihold in warm, dry conditions (5°C or above) and allow it to cure for 72 hours. For areas expecting foot traffic, we recommend using smaller stones between 4–10mm to achieve the most durable bond. Ready to use and more cost-effective than hiring a landscaper, Easihold is ideal for a range of applications—including decorative flower beds, tree surrounds, stepping stones, between paving slabs, and even with mulch or bark. Environmentally friendly and completely safe for both children and pets, Easihold offers peace of mind as well as a tidy, long-lasting finish. Suitable for both new and existing stone installations, it’s important to thoroughly wash away any dirt or silt before applying. Also, be sure that dry weather is forecast for at least 48 hours after application to ensure proper curing. Preparing for Easihold Application Before you begin, it's important to properly prepare your surface and check weather conditions to ensure optimal results: Even beginner gardeners can apply Easihold using one of these simple methods: 1. Pour-On Method (Beginner Friendly) The simplest method—just pour Easihold using a watering can. Coverage: Up to 1 litre (33.81 oz) per 1.2m² (12.92 sq. ft), or approximately 0.8 litres (27.05 oz) per 1m² (10.76 sq. ft). 2. Spray-On Method (Efficient & Even) Requires an airless sprayer and provides a more uniform application over larger areas. Coverage: Up to 1 litre (33.81 oz) per 2.8m² (30.14 sq. ft). 3. Mix-In Method (Strongest Bond) The most durable approach—mix Easihold directly with your stones to ensure each piece is fully coated. Usage: 0.8 litres (27.05 oz) per 25kg (55 lbs) bag of stones. Stone Size Matters: Easihold works best with clean, angular stones between 4mm (0.16") and 10mm (0.39"). Stones up to 15mm (0.59") may also be effective if properly prepared. Temperature & Conditions: Application must take place in dry conditions, with temperatures above 4°C (39.2°F). Curing Time: Allow 48–72 hours of warm, dry weather after application for full curing. Surface Type: For light foot traffic, a permeable, compacted stone base is required. For decorative areas, any stable base will suffice. Drying Instructions Curing Time: After application, avoid placing any heavy objects or applying pressure to the treated surface for at least 24 hours. Keep Clear: Ensure the area remains undisturbed during the drying period to allow Easihold to set properly. Long-Term Maintenance Tips Reapply if Submerged: If the treated area becomes submerged in water for more than 48 hours, a fresh application of Easihold may be required. Top-Up Coating: For foot traffic areas, reapply the top coat every 12 months. For decorative use only, reapply every 24 months to maintain appearance and effectiveness. Routine Cleaning: Periodically sweep or blow away loose debris, stones, or mulch to reduce surface abrasion and preserve the finish. Incorporating a stone binder into your garden is a smart and practical way to enhance both the appearance and performance of your outdoor spaces. Here’s how it can benefit your landscaping: 1. Improved Stability and Structure Prevents Shifting: A stone binder locks loose gravel and stones in place, maintaining the structure of paths, driveways, and decorative features over time. Reduces Erosion: It minimizes movement caused by wind, rain, or foot traffic, preserving the integrity of your layout. 2. Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal Clean, Polished Look: Binders keep stones neatly contained, preventing spread and creating a tidy, refined appearance. Uniform Design: Helps maintain a cohesive, professional finish across garden features such as patios, walkways, and borders. 3. Low Maintenance Less Upkeep: With stones held in place, there’s less need for constant raking or replacing scattered gravel. Easy Cleaning: Surfaces are easier to sweep and wash without worrying about dislodging stones. 4. Increased Safety Slip Reduction: By preventing loose gravel from moving underfoot, binders reduce the risk of slips and falls on walkways. Stable Footing: Creates a more secure, even surface for everyday use, especially in high-traffic areas. 5. Eco-Friendly Benefits Dust Control: Helps minimize dust generated by loose gravel, improving air quality and cleanliness. Sustainable Choice: Many stone binders are water-based and environmentally friendly, making them a greener option for your garden. 6. Versatile Applications Wide Usage: Ideal for decorative stone beds, tree surrounds, stepping stones, paths, and between pavers. Compatible with various stone sizes and types. In summary, a stone binder enhances the durability, safety, and visual appeal of your garden while reducing ongoing maintenance. It’s a practical and eco-conscious investment for creating a well-kept, long-lasting outdoor space.Read More...
