VUBA Resin Bound Aggregates can be laid directly over existing tarmac or asphalt driveways. However, for maximum durability and a truly premium finish, we recommend the award-winning VubaMac base system—expertly engineered to deliver outstanding strength, long-lasting performance, and superior results.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Ground Preparation
If no tarmac or asphalt is present, excavate the area to a minimum depth of 100mm. Add a 30mm layer of MOT Type 1 Limestone to create a solid and reliable sub-base.

2. Compact the Base
Distribute the hardcore evenly and compact it thoroughly using a Wacker Plate or similar compactor until the foundation is firm, level, and ready for the next stage.

3. Install the First Layer of SRM
Lay the first sheet of Structural Reinforcement Mesh (SRM) for driveways, trimming to fit as required. SRM comes in various sizes to suit different project needs.

4. Lay the VubaMac Base
Mix and apply the VubaMac base with a heavy-duty roller (available via the VUBA website). Always follow the detailed VubaMac installation guide for optimal results.

5. Add the Second Layer of SRM
Place a second sheet of SRM over the newly laid VubaMac base. Allow approximately one hour to cure—this bonding process provides exceptional strength for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
