Looking After Your Paving

One of the biggest advantages of Porcelain Paving is that it is very low maintenance and doesn't need sealing and yet remains bright and looking new.

However, should there be any damage or any spills, we strongly recommend using Azpects Easy Porcelain Cleaner 1L, which is a multi-purpose product that works as an excellent stain remover along with dirt and debris that may have gathered in your paving.

On the other hand, looking after Indian Sandstone Paving is much harder as it needs regular maintenance and sealing to stop it from discolouring.

What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving?

Both Sandstone and Porcelain Paving are both the leading choices for garden paving stones, both very popular, but very different materials.

Porcelain Paving is a manufactured patio slab that was developed in a factory and made up of materials like clay and quartz. During manufacturing, these garden paving slabs are put through a huge amount of pressure and heated to very high temperatures of 1200 degrees Celsius, which is done to ensure their durability and stability.

On the opposite side, Sandstone Paving is a naturally occurring stone that is derived from stone quarries in India, that has been trimmed down to useable sizes. Due to these Indian paving slabs being a natural material, they have variations in colour and texture being more brittle and porous, which guarantees a unique garden but also aids with water absorption and in extension, flood prevention.

Please remember that as time passes, Sandstone Paving will change colour to lighter shades even if you have sealed them. However, Porcelain Paving does a better job of maintaining its colours over time and is able to withstand difficult weather with more ease. So on that account, many homeowners will prefer Porcelain just to reduce the time spent maintaining their garden.
