We advocate for the installation of a stable and permeable sub-base beneath garden paving to facilitate smooth water drainage through Natural Stone Paving, thereby contributing to flood prevention efforts.

For those contemplating a driveway installation adorned with Decorative Stones or Shingle, a suitable sub-base is essential for laying the stones securely. We recommend a sub-base depth of 50mm to minimize any potential shifting or displacement when traversing the area on foot or by vehicle.

MOT Type 3 for Building

As previously mentioned, MOT Type 3 serves as a versatile option for creating sub-bases in various construction projects, including commercial buildings, roads, and pathways.

Sharing characteristics with Crushed Concrete and Aquaflow Aggregates, MOT Type 3 is classified as permeable. With the increasing occurrence of flash floods and the associated risk of standing water, architects and builders are encouraged to use permeable materials wherever possible. This enables efficient absorption of water during heavy rainfall, subsequently allowing it to gradually percolate into the ground.

Despite being inherently durable and robust, limestone is categorized as a soft stone. This makes Type 3 limestone a preferred choice among landscapers and builders for filling gaps in building foundations and sub-bases. When combined with 40mm Scalpings, the limestone aggregates are effectively compacted, enhancing the strength of the sub-base.
