Golden Fossil Sandstone Paving
The Fossil Sandstone Paving is one of our most well-liked paving for those who prefer lighter colours. An interesting aspect of this stone is the fern fossils found in some stones. Its beautiful golden colours blend in with all surroundings, making it an easy choice for any pathway or patio area.
These Natural Stones will give your back or front garden a very unique look due to the fern fossils, every slab will be unique and different.
To ensure an even consistency, high quality and high durability, the paving flagstones are calibrated to 22mm depth.
The Fossil Sandstone Paving has a higher porosity in comparison to manufactured Porcelain Paving, this is due to the fact that these paving slabs are a naturally formed stone. Because of the nature of the material, it will allow moisture to penetrate and will weather naturally over time.

To keep your Sandstone free of any dirt and debris we advise that you jet wash your paving every 6 months.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Limestone Paving?
As they are both naturally derived from stone quarries in India, Sandstone and Limestone share many similar qualities.
It is vital not note that, Sandstone is hardwearing when compared to Limestone, as Limestone is slightly more brittle.
Sandstone Paving is able to maintain its original colour, on the other hand, even once a sealer has been used, the colour in Limestone, over time will become lighter.
Stone Zone offers a big range of paving options for Sandstone paving, such as sawn options that enables the paving to have a smoother finish.
For the Limestone Paving to retain it's colour to its highest quality, it must be sealed. Whereas for Sandstone Paving, sealing is optional.
What is the Difference Between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving?
Sandstone and Porcelain Paving are significantly different paving. As we have mentioned before, Sandstone Paving are naturally formed, alternatively you get many different finishes and a larger variety of colour with Porcelain Paving due to them being manufactured.
If you are a fan of a more traditional, classic look we highly recommend the Sandstone Paving. Or if you prefer a more chic, modern look with some unique twists, you'd be better off with Porcelain Paving.
Please be informed that over time Sandstone Paving will fade naturally as the weather will cause changes to the surface texture and colour. If you prefer something that retains its colour and texture, Porcelain Paving should be the one you choose. Porcelain is able to retain its colour much better due to it being manmade.
A final aspect to take note of for Sandstone Paving is that it involves maintenance and needs upkeeping. It is recommended that you jet wash Sandstone Paving every 6 months. If that is not something you prefer, Porcelain Paving would be more appropriate is it only requires a hose down to clear away any debris or dirt, every 6 months.
