20mm Cerney Cotswold Chippings for Pathways

20mm Cerney Cotswold Chippings for Gardens

How to Lay Cerney Cotswold Chippings 20mm in Your Garden 

We think the best option when completing any kind of landscaping project is to hire a professional landscaper because they will make sure that all the work is done properly and safely. However, if you are determined to take on a fairly uncomplicated project, then laying out these chippings is not a particularly hard job, especially if you have done DIY-ing before! To ease your way a little bit and give you a rough idea of what to expect, we have created a little guide.

The first thing to do before you go anywhere near the chippings is to create a stable base for the chippings to be laid on. The most popular material used is Limestone Type 1 (MOT Type 1), for this step. MOT Type 1 is a graded 40mm Limestone that is preferred by most Landscapers to create an even and durable base.

Once your base has been laid properly, decide and mark out where you want the stones to go. After than has been decided, you can use the Quantity Calculator on our website, which will do the difficult for you and calculate how much base layer and Cerney Cotswolds you need to complete your project. As a general rule, 50mm is the most optimal depth for the base.

Stone Zone also supplies Grid Stabilisers, which are perfect for going over larger areas that have to endure a lot of traffic. Plus, they are also fitting for private roads and longer driveways.

Although this step can be ignored as it's not vital, we highly recommend that you also purchase Weed Fabric. We strongly suggest you do this because it is very useful when you want to stop weeds from sprouting and spreading through the stones or the fabric. The Cerney Cotswold 20mm is also an excellent choice for creating elegant garden borders, so you get little splashes and hints of colour all through your garden. They are easy to install as they can be laid directly on the surface you currently have, including artificial grass, weed fabric, and turf.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
